Subnautica 2 conduit crystal is found in the Karakorum region on the far east of the map: on the cliffs below the Karakorum Power Plant that overlook the Angel Comb in the Root Canyon, and in a small area around large Axum pylons called Conduits that create fresh crystals with lightning strikes. Every deposit has to be shattered with the Sonic Resonator. Once you own a single crystal, a Metal Farm can grow two more per 10:00 cycle, the only crystal source with a documented timer.
This guide reflects the official Subnautica 2 Wiki and Unknown Worlds' patch notes as of Buddy System Hotfix 2 (October 6, 2026), the latest patch at the time of writing. Subnautica 2 is in Early Access, so spawn points, recipes and balance can still change, and gaps in the wiki are flagged where they exist.
01
What Conduit Crystal is
Conduit Crystal is a raw material you gather rather than craft. Its in-game description calls it "Kagome optical fibers derived from shock quartz", essentially natural wires for light, which fits its role in high-tech gear. You can scan it with the ordinary Scanner to unlock its databank entry. French-speaking players often search for it as "cristal conducteur"; this guide sticks to the English in-game name.
The crystal matters because it gates two tool upgrades at the Modification Station, the Bioscanner and the Feedback Resonator. It also goes into Advanced Batteries, Entangled Power Cells and Improved Fins, so it's worth collecting several on each trip.
02
Where to find Conduit Crystal in Subnautica 2
The wiki places Conduit Crystals below the Karakorum Power Plant, on the cliffs that overlook the Angel Comb in the Root Canyon directly beneath the plant. That is the same comb that grants the Axum Vision adaptation. The power plant is listed at -166269, 437515 and spans 20 to 470 m, while the Root Canyon runs from 364 m down to 750 m, making it the deepest accessible biome in the current build. The canyon's own wiki page lists Conduit Crystal among its resources.
Conduits are large, pylon-like Axum structures scattered around the Karakorum region, described on the wiki as collapsed. Every so often a Conduit throws lightning arcs at a nearby crystal node. A strike can create new Conduit Crystal nodes, and the flash itself helps you spot them, so if you see lightning crackling along a cliff, swim toward it. Crystals made this way appear in a small area around their Conduit.

Conduit Crystal locations: coordinates from the official wiki
The official wiki's location table lists three spots, and the wiki's own map data labels all three as Conduits, with the same descriptions. So these are places where crystals form around a pylon, not single fixed rocks. The coordinates and depths below are the ones listed on the official wiki, reproduced exactly.
| Coordinates and depth (as listed on the official wiki) | Where it is |
|---|---|
| -182416, 441004 @ 360m | On a cliff west of the Angel Comb, under the Karakorum Power Plant |
| -157274, 441805 @ 350m | On a cliff east of the Angel Comb, under the Karakorum Power Plant |
| -140343, 424554 @ 445m | South of the Karakorum Metal Farms |
The fixed, non-respawning crystals are separate from these Conduit sites. The article text says there are three of them, but the wiki's map currently shows only two: one west of the Karakorum Power Plant and one next to a Conduit beneath it, at -181949.97, 445049.97 and -153948.55, 443415.75 in the map data. The wiki doesn't list a depth for either one.
If older tips send you to a lone fixed crystal in the Intermediary Basin, don't plan a trip around it. The wiki's map data was updated on 2026-10-14 and no longer shows that marker.
04
Breaking deposits with the Sonic Resonator
Conduit Crystals only appear as large deposits, and those need the Sonic Resonator. Aim at a deposit and your crosshair grows and turns green with a HUD prompt. Hold the trigger to charge for about a second, then release when the reticle closes to shatter it. The tool runs on a battery, so pack a spare for a long canyon dive.
The Sonic Resonator blueprint takes two fragment scans. Ten of the eleven fragment spots on the wiki are in shallow water between 20 and 60 m, around places such as the Old Habitat, Camp One and the Spider Dome, and the last is on a cliffside just northeast of the Karakorum Power Plant at -159495, 427967 @ 305m. You craft it at the Fabricator from 2 Titanium Ingots, 2 Lead, 1 Wiring Kit and 1 Basic Battery. Upgrading it into the Feedback Resonator later doesn't cost you the ability to mine: the upgraded tool also lights up green on resource deposits.
05
Grow more Conduit Crystal in a Metal Farm
The renewable route is the Metal Farm. The wiki lists its Conduit Crystal recipe as 1 crystal in and 2 crystals out on a 10:00 timer. The input works as a catalyst: you place one crystal in the farm's storage as a sample, the wiki says it isn't used up, and the farm grows a deposit that you break with the Sonic Resonator before the next cycle begins.
The farm only runs while submerged and powered, and its timer pauses whenever power falls short. Its blueprint comes from scanning the Axum farm structures in the Karakorum Metal Farms, and building one takes 1 Axum Ingot plus 1 Axum Bacterial Culture.
There's a catch in the order of operations. An Axum Ingot needs Atacamite, Atacamite needs the Feedback Resonator because update 1.2 stopped the Sonic Resonator from harvesting it, and the Feedback Resonator itself costs 2 Conduit Crystals. Going by the wiki's recipes, your first crystals have to come from the wild before a farm is possible.

What Conduit Crystal is used for
These are all the recipes in the wiki's uses list for Conduit Crystal.
| Item | Made at | Ingredients |
|---|---|---|
| Bioscanner | Modification Station | 1 Scanner, 2 Enameled Glass, 3 Conduit Crystal |
| Feedback Resonator | Modification Station | 1 Sonic Resonator, 2 Enameled Glass, 2 Conduit Crystal, 2 Strontium |
| Improved Fins | Fabricator | 1 Basic Fins, 1 Fiber Mesh, 2 Conduit Crystal |
| Advanced Battery | Fabricator | 1 Conduit Crystal, 1 Strong Acid, 1 Silver Ingot |
| Entangled Power Cell | Fabricator | 1 Conduit Crystal, 1 Strong Acid, 1 Gold Ingot, 1 Troilite |
| Conduit Crystal x2 | Metal Farm | 1 Conduit Crystal as a sample |
The Bioscanner can scan Axum technology the regular Scanner can't read, such as the power plant's damaged turbine, and bio-scanning lifeforms unlocks biomods at the Biolab. Its blueprint comes from scanning the Bioscanner at the entrance of the EVA Prep wreck, listed at -165682, 459403 @ 140m.
The Feedback Resonator fires a ranged vortex shot with an effective range of about 25 m that can destroy armored Bloom Cankers from a distance, and it's the tool the wiki says you need for Atacamite. Improved Fins add 1 m/s to your swim speed, an Advanced Battery holds 200 energy, and an Entangled Power Cell holds 400, twice a standard Power Cell.
Two supporting ingredients are worth preparing early. Enameled Glass is made at the Fabricator from Glass and Creature Enamel, and Strontium is refined at the Processor from 2 Celestine. The three one-off crafts, the Bioscanner, Feedback Resonator and Improved Fins, need 7 crystals between them, plus one more for every Advanced Battery or Entangled Power Cell you make.
07
Respawning, and what to do when none are spawning
Conduit Crystals come in two kinds. Crystals around a Conduit can be replaced, because lightning strikes can create new nodes, but the wiki doesn't document a respawn timer or how many nodes a Conduit supports at once. The fixed deposits are the opposite: as the wiki's "non-respawning" label says, they don't come back once broken.
If you reach a Conduit and see nothing, search the immediate area around the pylon, check the cliff faces and wait for a lightning arc, since a strike marks a crystal for you. If the area is picked clean, the Metal Farm is the steady answer: one sample yields 2 crystals per 10:00 cycle for as long as the farm has power.
For where Karakorum sits relative to the starting area, see the map and biomes guide, and the resources guide covers the other raw materials you'll be collecting on the same trip.
